The Smash Books craze and how to start a smashing upcycling adventure! Journey’s End Part 6

I am finally done with my 2011 Smash Book. I just have to add a little bit of journaling but I will do that as and when the mood strikes me. I have a pen and the book ready for whenever little things pop into my head. I also still have a bit of place for extra odds and ends

that I might want to smash in that I might have missed. 🙂

Looking at the book now is an awesome feeling. It really is a timeline of everything I did and felt during this past year and makes me understand how much I have done, learnt and experienced. Makes me feel this project was really worth doing.

Smash books and scrapbooks are not so much about capturing memories perfectly, with all the pictures in a straight line and gorgeous embellishments and perfectly typed journaling. They are about capturing memories the way they happened, in a natural and imperfect manner, as they happened. Not stressing out about how things looked really paid off in the end and I love the book.

I ended up using a lot of A4 sized sketches and so added them to the book as fold-out pages. I also stuck some cards to the front and back inside covers. Added movie tickets as well. Basically just stuck and smashed stuff in :). You can see the pictures below for more details.
