So the book is finally coming together 🙂 The pictures, journalling etc are all on the pages now, all smashed in my folio. That makes me happy for I feel like I have the base of the book all done. Now I am building on the base, adding layers and layers, of journalling, embellishments, memorabilia and stickers.
Most of this work was done last night and early this morning but the day has been spent meeting friends and family and writing all my little short stories 🙂 I picked 7-8 themes and wrote little stories that revolved around these themes. I printed the stories out on vellum and have stuck them in my book with some glue. The titles were also printed on vellum and some of them I just smashed in, others received a little more love 🙂
Here are some pages that have been worked on. This book will never be a perfect work of art. I am going to take all of the next week adding little things that I find here and there, until I am finally happy with the results. I do think I might indulge in a little stamping as well…and I will add some hand written notes and journalling and doodling. I will be back next week with some final pictures.
In the meantime I will work on my upcyled smash book for 2012. I have decided that this year I will not dwell too much on pictures. I will use all the pictures I take this year and make a slide show out of those, adding them to my
book on a cd. Some of the really memorable pictures I will add to the book, but will try and stick to 15-20. The rest of the book will be notes, memorabilia and other things. Let’s see if I am able to meet the challenge.
So that means all of next week we will be making an upcycled smash book and at the end of the week we will take a look at the finished smash book as well as the finished upcycled smash book. Then y’all can compare 🙂 In the meantime here are some pictures I took today of my smash folio.
Hope y’all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and that the day has been amazing so far. I have resolved to bring some more creativity and craftiness to my life by being regular on my blog and working on 3-4 new books for my green crafting series.
Hope y’all have an artsy year!
