I love to recycle used items and so when I needed a new journal to keep track of my mile long To-Do lists I took apart an old journal and turned it into something new and usable…
I used the binding rings from the old notebook and used the covers as guides for punching holes. For the paper I used normal binder paper cut in half. The new covers were constructed from old boxes cut to the right size. I love using the corrigated card found in stiff packaging boxes, they add a lot of strength to the journal.
Next I used some scrapbooking paper and embellishments to decorate the cover. The medallion was made using a sizzix die. I cut two pieces, one from chipboard and the other from paper. The chipboard gave the embellishment some dimension and the inked paper made it look vintage.
Once the covers were complete I used the old covers as guides and used a crop-a-dile to punch the holes in the cover and in the paper. I used the old binding rings to put everything together and voila! I had a new journal. 🙂
