You must have gathered by now that I hate throwing things away. Ever since I was a little girl I have been fascinated by boxes and bottles, plastic, glass or cardboard and my room used to be full of the ones I used to rescue from around the house. Some of them became storage containers while others were turned into little houses. Recently while playing with a damaged shoebox (yes I am still obsessed with them!)I came to the conclusion that it would have to be thrown away =(…but what to do with the lid? That is when inspiration struck and I came up with this project. Hope you have fun making this…
Shoebox Lid Frame.
A frame for that special picture!
You will need:
-
A shoe box lid
-
Glue
-
Scissors
-
Bits and Pieces
-
A picture
Method:
-
Take the shoebox lid and cover it with paper (plain or printed). You can even use fabric to cover the lid, or you can paint it.
-
After that decorate the lid and position the photograph where you thinks it looks the best!
-
Glue everything and you’re done!

Just used one color as the backgroud and some broad ribbon in a contrasting color as embellishment...
The beauty of the frame lies in the way you decorate it,so go crazy! Use small mirrors, sequins, beads and ribbons….anything that appeals to you. This would be a great project to make use of your die-cutting machine. I really like the cuttlebug dies and they would be great for making a set of these frames for a child’s room or nursery or even a set for your crafting space. The variety of papers, stickers, embellishments and dies available on the market really make this project a spectacular opportunity to try out all these products and you really get an amazing end result while rescuing a shoebox lid!
Thanks for such a wonderful idea.
I can’t wait to try some at home, I think my girls will love this project.
